Solid vs engineered hardwood

Engineered hardwood has a real wood top layer over a stable core, so it handles Toronto’s humidity changes better and can go over concrete as a floating (click) floor — including basements. Solid hardwood is nailed down over wood subfloors and can be refinished many times.

Hardwood installation

Our own crews install engineered hardwood from $2.00/sq ft (floating/click) and $2.50/sq ft (glue or nail-down), with removal of old flooring and subfloor preparation available.
